The Flipped Learning Academy and the MAST Institute will be hosting the Second Annual Higher Education Flipped Learning Conference on June 14-16, 2017 on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, Colorado. The conference starts at 9am Mountain Time on Wednesday, June 14th, and ends at Noon on Friday, June 16th. We are currently looking at the schedule, trying to incorporate clinics in the Wednesday to Friday conference time, stay posted.
Greeley is located about an hour's drive north of Denver International Airport. 

This conference will allow higher education flipped classroom practitioners to exchange information, highlight faculty engaged in assessment of flipped classrooms, and discuss the future of flipped learning in higher education including the professional development with those interested in flipped learning. 

The conference is for instructors, faculty, and graduate students from universities, colleges, community colleges and any other post-secondary institution. We also invite those interested in the professional development of instructors in flipped learning. Previous experience with flipped classrooms is not required. The conference will be a blend of novice and experienced flipped educators to share best-practices and research.

Proposals were due Monday, March 13th, 2017 for full consideration.

Registration

Registration has closed. Please email Dr. Nissa Yestness () if you have questions. Registration fee includes the conference, parking on campus, and snacks/beverages, and some meals (see below). Lodging will be available on or off campus. The on-campus housing is in North Hall. The accommodations are very similar to a hotel, including air conditioning! Each two-bedroom suite has a shared bathroom. When registering, you will can make lodging reservations. There are also many quality hotels in Greeley and can be booked online. 

Registration fees:
Early-bird registration will be available through Monday April 17, 2017 at the rate of $200 for all attendees* (including speakers).
Regular registration will be $250 for all attendees* (including speakers).
*Graduate student registration fee will be $50 (email for registration code).
*UNC affiliated folks should email  before completing the registration process.

Conference Check In

Check in for the conference will be Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 morning from 8am-9am on the first floor of Ross Hall of Science in front of Room 1010.  

If you are staying on campus, you will check in to your room at North Hall, across the parking lot from Ross Hall. (closest to the intersection of 11th Ave. & 23rd St.) We will have conference check in available from 3-5pm on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 at North Hall (in addition to Wednesday morning).

Meals

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, light breakfasts will be provided such as fruit and pastries.
Wednesday and Thursday lunch will be provided.
Thursday night will be the banquet dinner with keynote speaker, dinner included.

Wednesday evening trips

Transportation exists to take folks to downtown Greeley Wednesday night. Meet in the parking lot south of Ross, in front of North Hall at 5:30 to head downtown with other conference attendees. The van will hold 15 folks and others are welcome to join by car.

June weather in Colorado

Local weather varies greatly. We are in the high plains. It's not uncommon to frequently use the heater at night and the air conditioner during the day. This time of year we experience an average high of 85 degrees and low of 52 degrees, sometimes with afternoon thunderstorms, but otherwise very low humidity. We recommend checking the local forecast before you depart.

Transportation

Shuttle van service will be available between Denver International Airport and the conference, on-campus housing. We suggest you use Greeley Shuttle for round-trip shuttle service between Greeley and Denver International Airport. According to their website, it is $73 roundtrip. Drop off address for on-campus housing is
North Hall 2253 11th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631-6903.

Free parking will be available at the conference if you are driving or renting a car, please pick up your parking pass at check in. If you are using Google Maps or GPS, you can search for "Ross Hall of Science, Greeley, Colorado". Once in Greeley, it will be your own responsibility to get to Ross Hall each day for the conference.
